May 16: Marie Antoinette, at age 14, married the future King Louis XVI of France (age 15) this day in 1770. Later, they were really heads off for each other.
May 19: On this day in 1535, French explorer Jacques Cartier set sail for North America. Where he started making very expensive watches.
May 22: This quarantine has been very productive. I’ve been able to add an entire 2nd chin. I don’t know about the coronavirus, but quarantine has definitely not helped slow the spread of my belly.
May 23: This quarantine has been very productive. I now know the difference between the Jonas Brothers and the Property Brothers.
May 28: On this day in 1863, the first black regiment left Boston to fight in the US Civil War. They would do anything to get to a warmer climate.
May 31: This day in 1974 Israel and Syria signed an agreement on the Golan Heights. Which was kept for almost a week.
